Job announcement NEDQ10550167:
Position: MUSEUM SPECIALIST, GS-1016-11 (Paper Conservator)
Salary: $57,408 – $74,628 Annual

Duties:You will plan, design and establish a Collection Management, Library and
Archives Conservation Program. Develops and manages the conservation and
preservation of archival/ library collections and paper-based museum items.
Identifies, assesses and quantifies the conservation needs for the paper-based
collections, develops strategies to address those needs and performs all paper-
based conservation treatments for the preservation and conservation of the
collections. Establishes conservation procedures, performs in-house treatments
and writes contract specifications on all out-sourced conservation treatments.
Establishes and oversees standard photographic and written documentation
procedures for conservation of materials. Develops, coordinates and manages a
comprehensive, long-term preservation program for the paper-based collections,
including environmental monitoring and control, integrated pest management,
collections storage and preservation requirements for exhibition and shipping.
