New Feature on PCAN

Update Our RSS feed from Yahoo Pipes has been unstable and disappears unpredictably. We will continue to work on this, please stand by. Updated update Oh look, it’s back. I think we will let this run for a few days to see what happens. Please bear with us.

We have been investigating how to aggregate posts from all the wonderful preservation and conservation blogs that are now out there (see the links on our right-sidebar).  This issue came up in a discussion at ALA Midwinter and the question was asked if PCAN would take on the role of aggregator. It’s a fine line, we want authors to be in control of their content and credited for their posts. We also want to have a convenient place to find your favorite sites and get timely information.

To this end we have created an RSS feed that points to a Yahoo Pipe we created that feeds posts from many of the sites we link to. We’ve named it PCAN Pipe and the feed is over on our left-sidebar, see it over there? We will monitor the feed to see if the Pipe is working correctly and updates in a timely manner. If you notice problems, drop us a note. This is all new to us so we expect a few bumps in the road.

Let us know what you think!

  1. We are having some technical difficulty, bear with us. If you find you are having trouble with the feed, please let us know.

  2. Yup, that PCAN Pipe feed is screwy. What shows up on the Yahoo Pipes page is not what shows up on the RSS feed.
