Exhibition lighting has experienced major transformations in the last decade. Museums must now deal with a revolution in lighting technology driven by pressures to reduce energy costs and become sustainable. This workshop will touch on the practical issues of lighting such as object sensitivity and visibility, lamps, fixtures, rooms, buildings, budgets and much more.

CCI professionals will be joined by Kit Cuttle, author of Lighting by Design and Light for Art’s Sake,to deliver lectures and demonstrations and guide participants through hands-on exercises and site visits.

Balboa Art Conservation Center (BACC) is pleased to present a three-day workshop series designed for institutions with material-based collections. Staff involved in collections care, policy making, exhibition development, installation, and students in degree related programs are encouraged to attend. A variety of
workshops will be offered to allow participants to select the training appropriate to their needs and experience levels. Cost varies depending upon the number of workshops taken. Individuals
from qualifying institutions may apply for stipend assistance, and student discounts are available.

Preventing pests by IPM Training Day
